When can I submit my film?
Submissions open January 30, 2018 and close April 30, 2018

Who can enter?
Anyone in participating countries aged 18+

How do I choose the right Sustainable Development Goal(s) for my film?
The Picture This Festival For The Planet is focusing on 8 of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Please choose 1 or more of these selected goals to inspire your project. You will be asked what goals you are using on your submission form.

Can I submit more than once?
No. One entry per person.

Does it cost anything to submit?
No

Can I submit an old project or does it have to be a new film?
You may submit an old project. The project does not need to be newly created for this festival.

Can I submit a “Virtual Reality” (360-degree) video?
Yes

Can I submit the same project that I submitted in the 2016 Picture This Festival?
Yes

What video formats do you accept for submission?
The maximum file size for video submission is 300MB. Accepted file types are AVI, MOV, WMV, MP4, MPEG, FLV, 3GP, and 3G2. If your submission is selected as a Regional Finalist, we may ask you to provide a file to your film in its highest quality, if available.

Am I required to obtain rights clearances for trademarked and copyrighted material?

Yes, you must clear all trademarked and/or copyrighted materials and get permission from all people included in your project prior to submission. Sony Pictures Television does not check to ensure that you have obtained clearance for these materials at any point during the submission process, nor will we be held responsible for any inclusion of un-cleared or copyrighted materials in your submission. It is the sole responsibility of the submitter to secure permission from the trademark or copyright holders of the material in question, whether it is music, stock footage, or any other elements that could violate an existing trademark or copyright. It is also the sole responsibility of the submitter to secure permission from all people who appear in your submission.

When will I find out whether or not my submission was selected?
If your submission was selected as a Regional Finalist, you will be alerted after April 30,2018 and before May 15, 2018.

Can I get feedback on my submission?
No

Where does the Picture This Festival For the Planet take place?
The festival will take place in Los Angeles, California on the Sony Pictures Studio Lot Summer 2018. (TBA)
